Write back
Answer a paper, rebut it, or propose the next one.
The original papers drew answers in print, and the answers made the argument better. These papers should too. Write a letter in reply, make the case against a paper, or propose a pain point the next paper should take on.
Coming soon. Submissions are not open yet. When they open, every letter will be read by a person before anything is posted, and nothing will post automatically.
This form is shown for review only. It has no destination and sends nothing.
§ 01What happens to a letter
- Received. You get a private link that shows where your letter stands.
- Checked. Any quotation of the founders, the Constitution or the Court is checked word for word against the record, the same way the papers are. A quotation that does not match is marked, not passed off.
- Read by a person. The editor reads every letter. A letter may be published as written, published with light edits for length (marked as edited), or not published, with a short reason.
- Published. Published letters appear with the paper they answer, signed the way you chose. Your email is never shown.
What gets published
- Arguments from any side, held to the same standard. Disagreeing with a paper is welcome; that is the point.
- Not published: attacks on a person rather than an argument, claims about people that the record does not support, private information, or quotations that cannot be verified.
